August 24, 2023 - The Launch of Bighorn HR Solutions!

Launching my own company has long been a dream of mine. Who doesn't want to be their own boss? All joking aside, Bighorn HR Solutions has been "born" out of a need seen in the marketplace for cost effective HR Expertise delivered to smaller group employers, non-profit entities and small local governments who may not have the resources to have in house HR staff, have issues that pose a conflict of interest or are very complex and multi-dimensional, where a guide or coach would be helpful.

This is where Bighorn HR Solutions can be of assistance. We provide expertise in all areas of HR with particular concentration in employee relations and investigations, grievance resolution, ADA, FMLA and Title VII compliance, niche recruiting for hard to fill positions, compensation and workforce analysis as well as coaching, training and management / leadership development.

Why the name "Bighorn"? It is a tribute to the sheep on the "ranchette" my husband and I have built over the 9 years we have been in Big Sky Country, after fleeing the pace of life in New England. It started innocently enough with two "rescue" sheep and has grown (by rescue and being surprised by lambs) to a flock of 21 sheep and 7 goats. They make us laugh, remind us of real and grounded priorities and have taught us so many things. They are strong, determined and don't shy away from anything. Those are the traits that Bighorn HR Solutions will bring to you and your HR needs.

This blog will be updated frequently - but don't expect just "Worky" or "HR" type stuff. You can expect random reflections, inspirations, updates to the latest trends in HR and every now and then, don't be surprised by a post about mountain life, the four-legged staff here and my ongoing attempts to find that elusive sparkling unicorn otherwise known as work life balance.
